St Alexander's Church on Three Crosses Square was built in 1818–1826 to a classicist design by Piotr Aigner and enlarged in 1886–1895 in neo-Renaissance style, with two towers and a large dome. It was destroyed by German bombing in September 1944. In 1949–1952 it was rebuilt in its original, smaller classicist form, without the 19th-century extension.
